How much does it cost to record a song in Delhi?

At MF Studios in Dwarka, studio time is Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 per hour. For a complete single we offer two fixed packages: Rs 15,000 for a fully produced audio track, and Rs 25,000 for the same track with a video shoot included. The audio package covers music production as well as recording, our instrumentalists play and build the backing track around your song, plus vocal recording, mixing and mastering. What is included in the Rs 15,000 single-song package?

The Rs 15,000 package covers the full journey from idea to finished track: music production with live instrumentalists who compose and play the backing arrangement, vocal recording in our studio, mixing, and mastering to streaming-platform standards. You receive a release-ready audio file suitable for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Instagram. The Rs 25,000 package adds a video shoot of the performance, delivered alongside the audio.

Do you use live musicians or backing tracks?

Live musicians. MF Studios has instrumentalists who play and arrange the backing track for your song as part of our production packages, rather than assembling it from stock loops or samples. This is included in the Rs 15,000 audio package. If you already have a backing track or karaoke file, we can record your vocals over it on an hourly basis at Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 per hour instead.

Where can I record a song in Dwarka?

MF Studios is a professional recording studio at 209, Mahadev Apartment, Sector 23, Dwarka, New Delhi 110077. We record original songs, cover versions, karaoke tracks and demos for singers at every level, from first-timers to working professionals. Sessions are by appointment on +91 98686 05422.

What equipment does MF Studios use?

We record through Rode microphones, monitor on Fluid Audio studio monitors, and produce, mix and master in the latest version of Steinberg Cubase. Recording takes place in an acoustically treated room, and our engineers handle tracking, mixing and mastering in-house. The result is a release-ready master rather than a rough recording that needs work elsewhere.

Do you record podcasts?

Yes. MF Studios records solo, two-person and panel podcasts in an acoustically treated room using multiple Rode microphones. Podcast sessions are booked hourly at Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 per hour. We can deliver edited, noise-cleaned audio that is ready to publish, or hand over the raw multitrack files if you prefer to edit yourself. Video recording can be added for podcasts that also publish to YouTube.

Can a beginner record at a professional studio?

Yes, and a significant proportion of our clients are first-time singers. Our engineers walk you through headphone monitoring, microphone technique and the take process, and you can record as many takes as you need within your booked time. Because MF Studios is the recording arm of Melody Foundation, a music school running in Dwarka since 2007, we work with beginners every single week. Nobody here will rush you.

What is the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing is the process of balancing the individual recorded tracks, vocals, instruments and effects, into one cohesive stereo track. Mastering is the final polish applied to that stereo mix, setting overall loudness and tonal balance so the song sounds consistent across streaming platforms, phone speakers and car stereos. MF Studios provides both in-house, including for tracks recorded elsewhere.

Do I need to bring anything to a recording session?

Bring your lyrics, your backing track or karaoke file if you have one, and a pen drive or hard drive for the raw files. MF Studios provides microphones, headphones, monitoring and all recording equipment. If you are recording an original composition, a rough phone recording of the melody helps our engineers and instrumentalists understand what you are after.

Can you record a music video as well as audio?

Yes. The Rs 25,000 package covers a fully produced single with a video shoot included: music production with live instrumentalists, vocal recording, mixing, mastering, and video capture of the performance. Do you work with schools and cultural organisations?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. MF Studios has recorded for DPS Dwarka, DPS Gurgaon, St. Mary's School, MDH School, Universal School, Paramount School, Deepanwita Cultural Association, Golok Dham Temple and Literacy India, among others. We handle school songs and prayers, annual-day productions, speeches and narration, devotional and bhajan recordings, voice-overs for educational content, and multi-microphone group recordings for choirs and ensembles.
